Using religious/spirituality (R/S) in psychotherapy changes the way clients look at their problems. Activation of Spiritual Dimension (ASD) based on attention on the two ultimate domains of perception filed, including "origin" and "resurrection" (hereafter) of existence, along with perceived "self" and "objective world" dimensions, as well as spiritual self-regulation, is the core of God-Oriented Spiritual Psychotherapy (God-OSP). The purpose of this article is to introduce the God-OSP protocol, its theoretical principles, content validity, and its clinical effect on psychological problems, especially anxiety, and stress. Both qualitative methods (such as content analysis and clinical phenomenology) and quantitative methods such as content validity index calculation have been used to analyze the data. The validation of the protocol was conducted with the rating of 10 expert psychologists that were familiar with both psychotherapy and religion content and self-reported rating scales and with 35 clinical psychologists and consultants that interest in participating in God-OSP. Results indicate that God-OSP with 5 stages, shows validation in expert psychologist rating and is also valid and reliable in self-report participant clinical psychologists. Spiritual action management, activation of innate intellect and God-oriented Wisdom, awareness of spiritual Identity, and real conceptualization of the core concepts of perceptual domains, are very important components of the protocol to ASD. The findings also showed that it is possible to design and implement the principles, mechanisms, and techniques of therapy for ASD based on Islamic religious sources. Therefore, it is possible to design effective interventions for emotional problems based on religious sources.

Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) as the biggest threat to public health in 2020, is a two-year period that has caused many problems to people around the world. The aim of this study was to compare spirituality, resilience and self-compassion in students with high and low levels of COVID-19 anxiety. The method of the present study is descriptive causal-comparative. The statistical population of the study consisted of male and female students of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities of the University of Guilan in the academic year 2020-2021. Participants were selected by available methods from each group of 135 students with high levels of COVID-19 anxiety and 135 students with low levels of COVID-19 anxiety. Students were assessed using COVID-19 Anxiety Scale Wheaton et al. (2012), spirituality Parsian & Dunning (2009), resilience Connor & Davidson (2003), and Self-Compassion Questionnaire Neff (2003). Data analysis was performed using multivariate analysis of variance by SPSS software version 24. Findings from multivariate analysis of variance showed that there was a significant difference between students with and without COVID-19 anxiety in terms of spirituality, resilience and self-compassion; So that the average scores of spirituality, resilience and self-compassion in students with COVID-19 anxiety are lower compared to students without COVID-19 anxiety (P<0.001). According to the findings of the present study, students with high levels of COVID-19 anxiety have less spirituality and resilience, which in turn aggravates the symptoms in individuals. On the other hand, it was found that self-judgment, feelings of isolation and over-assimilation are high in people with COVID-19 anxiety; For this reason, psychologists and counselors need to pay more attention to these areas in order to reduce the unreasonable severity of anxiety in students.

Depression is one of the most common psychiatric disorders so choosing an appropriate therapy is very important. Regarding to the role of spirituality in depression and its therapeutic methods, this research attempts to compare the role of the level of Psycho-spiritual development of individuals in the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. For this purpose, among the students of Tarbiat Modares University, 8 subjects with basic depression were selected using available sampling method, and then based on their scores in Psycho-Spiritual Scale (Janbozorgi, 1391), they were divided into two groups of 4 with high Psycho-spiritual development and 4 with low Psycho-spiritual development. Then subjects of each level of Psycho-spiritual development were randomly assigned to two experimental groups (acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy). Depression scores of patients before, during and after treatment, as well as follow up, were compared with the percentage of recovery and the effect size. The results showed that both treatments, acceptance and commitment and cognitive-behavioral therapy, were effective on decreasing depression, but acceptance and commitment therapy was more effective in decreasing the depression of individuals with low Psycho-spiritual development, and cognitive-behavioral therapy was more effective in Reducing people's depression with higher levels of Psycho-spiritual development. Therefore, it seems that paying attention to the level of Psycho-spiritual development of clients in choosing a therapeutic approach is of great importance.

This semi-experimental research is an attempt to compare the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy and spiritual-religious psychotherapy on reducing the covert anxiety level of male students residing in dormitory of Allameh Tabataba'i University. Using Cattels Anxiety Scale Questionnaire, 45 students with covert anxiety were randomly placed in three groups (cognitive-behavioral therapy, spiritual-religious psychotherapy and control). Members of the first two groups collectively received therapy for two hours each week (12 sessions). At the end of the therapeutic intervention, all of the three groups were assessed again. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Result showed no significant difference between the two therapeutic methods in reducing the anxiety level while both of them were significantly effective in reducing the students' level of covert anxiety.
