The aim of this research was to present the life satisfaction path analysis predictive model Predictive Model of Life Satisfaction based on positive psychology constructs. For this purpose, 100 employees of Tehran University were selected by multiple cluster sampling method. The instruments used in this study were spiritual well-being, religiosity, hope, optimism, self-esteem, self-efficacy and life satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed using LISREL 7/8 by path analysis method. Results showed that that in the first presented model only, some indexes were fitted. So the modified model showed better fitting through data. Results indicated that spirituality; religiosity, hope, self-esteem, and self-efficacy variables have significant direct relationship with life satisfaction. Also, there is a significant indirect relationship between spirituality and religiosity with life satisfaction through hope, optimism, self-esteem, and self-efficacy variables. There was not significant relationship between gender, marital and economic status with life satisfaction. Finally in this research the role of positive psychology constructs were confirmed in life satisfaction that this finding indicates the importance of positive psychology constructs in life satisfaction.

AbstractThe aim of the study was to examine effectiveness of group logotherapy on reducing depression and increasing hope in elderly with empty nest syndrome living in city of Ghorveh. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest and a control group. The statistical population included all men and women living in Ghorveh whose children had left them. The sample group consisted of 24 individuals who were selected using convenient sampling. Data were collected using the 21-item Beck Depression Inventory (BDI II) and Snyder’s Adult Hope Scale (AHS). The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (covariance analysis). The results showed that the average posttest depression score was significantly lower in the experimental group than the control group, and that the average posttest hope score was significantly higher in the experimental group. The findings suggest that group logotherapy has positive effects in reducing depression and increasing hope in elderly with empty nest syndrome

Background and Objective: To measure the mental strength and ability of human and structures that exist in field of positive psychology some instruments are required. The aim of the present study was to investigate the psychometric properties of Simpson's Hope Scale in Iranian university students.
Methods: In this descriptive-survey research 1000 students of the 18-34 age group and the 23.9±5.13 mean were selected through categorical cluster sampling method from among different Iranian universities, and the participant answered Snyder's Hope Scale, Oxford Happiness Scale, Hardiness Scale, Beck Hopelessness Inventory, Riff's Psychological Well-being Scale as well as Simpson's (1999) Hope Scale (with minor changes).
Results: Of meaningful significance (p<0/01) were Coefficients of Cronbach's Alpha (0.94), split-half (0.85), convergent validity (with Hardiness, (0.40), Happiness, (0.64), Psychological Well-being, (0.47), divergent validity (with Hopelessness, -0.25). Exploratory factor analysis showed that 40-items Hope scale for adults had five latent factors that explain 56% of the variance. Second order confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the five factors had high factor loadings on one latent factor and therefore six factors model was fitted with the data (AGFI=0.93, RMSEA= 0.037, NFI=0.98).
Conclusion: The results showed that this test has high reliability and validity and can be used in other researches as well.
