The present study aimed to predict the tendency toward cosmetic treatments based on early maladaptive schemas and marital intimacy among married men applying for cosmetic surgery and non-applicant in the province of Yazd in 2020. The descriptive-correlation method is used. The statistical population of this study was all married men who applied for cosmetic surgery referred to relevant clinics and non-applicant married men in Yazd. According to this, a sample of 200 people, including 100 applicants and 100 non- applicant who were selected by available sampling. Then, Early maladaptive Schemas scale (Yang, 1998) and Bagarozzi's marital intimacy questionnaire (2001) were distributed among the subjects and after completing the questionnaires, the results were analyzed through logistic and Pearson correlation calculation. There is a significant relationship between different domains of early maladaptive schemas and intimacy of couples; Also, The findings showed that early maladaptive schemas and marital intimacy predict the tendency for cosmetic surgery in married men. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that the three maladaptive schemas of autonomy and dysfunctional functioning, acceptance, cut and rejection, as well as the interference component in social performance of body image, respectively, had the highest share in predicting the tendency for cosmetic surgery, respectively. The schemas in a person's life act as lenses that shape the interpretation, selection, and evaluation of one's experiences. Considering the role of early maladaptive schemas and marital intimacy in predicting the tendency to cosmetic surgery in this study, it is suggested to provide psychological treatments, especially schema therapy and couple therapy, before cosmetic surgery.

The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of group schema therapy on the modified early maladaptive schemas and reduction of social anxiety disorder symptoms in students. This was an experimental research, and a pre-test, post-test and control group design was applied. The statistical population of this study included male students in Isfahan University with social anxiety disorder symptoms in the academic year 1392-93. The sample of the study included 20 male students among the male students in Isfahan University identified by the scales of Social Phobia Inventory (SPIN) through simple random sampling. Then, they were assigned to two groups of control and experimental (n1=n2=10), and assessed with early maladaptive schemas scale and Social Phobia Inventory. The Experimental group received group schema therapy training for 2 months (8 sessions of 90 minutes) while the control group received no training at all. The results of multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) showed that group schema therapy in reducing symptoms of social anxiety and fear of negative evaluation and avoidance is effective, but no significant effect on symptoms of physiologically distress. In addition, the results showed that schema therapy were significantly improved early maladaptive schemas in all except two schemas abandonment / instability and subjugation (p < 0/05). Schema therapy can be used as an effective intervention for early maladaptive schemas modification and reduction of social anxiety disorder symptoms.

this research is based on the causal-comparative method that was done among diabetes and psoriasis patients who were referred to treatment centers and the Diabetes Association in Tehran.A sample of 85 subject included 30 subjects with psoriasis,25 diabetes type I and 30 healthy people, were selected by available sampling. The subject were assessed by the Young,s Early Maladaptive Schema Questionnaire (YSQ),Young,s Parenting Questionnaire and lzarus-folkman,s Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WOCQ). One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA)showed that psoriasis patients, except for mistrust, impaired autonomy and performance, entiltlement and enmeshment schemas have more schema scores compared to control group.and in diabetes, results showed that the group has more schema scores in areas of impaired limits, other-directedness and overvigilance and in schemas of vulnerability of harm, self-sacrifice and emotional inhibition compared to control group. psoriasis patients, have more schemas of emotional deprivation and unrelenting standards and in areas of overvigilance and impaired autonomy and performance have more schema scores compared to diabetes. The result of parental origins of diabetes father, have more schema scores in areas of other-directedness and impaired autonomy and performance and in schemas of defectiveness/shame, dependence/Incompetence, enmeshment, failure and approval-seeking and in parental origins of diabetes mother, in areas of impaired autonomy and performance, other-directedness and overvigilance and in schemas of vulnerability of harm or illness, unrelenting standards/hypercriticalness,emotional inhibition and approval-seeking have more schema scores compared to control group. In parental origins of psoriasis father in areas of overvigilance and in psoriasis parents in approval-seeking schemas have more schema scores compared to control group. And in origins parental diabetes father compared to psoriasis patients, have more schema scores in area of impaired autonomy and performance and schemas of defectiveness, self-sacrifice and enmeshment, the coping strategy of selfcontrol is more used by psoriasis patients compared to the control group.

The present essay, deal with analysis and critical evaluation of researches in schema therapy area through qualitative method. Five theses have been selected and evaluated among all theses done in Allameh Tabataba’i University, which applied schema therapy in their researches. In addition to analysis and evaluation, critical neglected issues and significant unanswered questions in schema therapy area, are discussed. Present review shows that in some cases the schema therapy is being employed without regarding to theoretical principles and adequate assessment of its appropriateness. A critical issue neglected in this area is examination the role of early maladaptive schemas in chronic psychological disorders that have been considered difficult to treat. There is a significant question that if early maladaptive schemas is moderator or mediator variable in the process of development of disorders and psychotherapy.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and God image. To do so, 125 students of Shiraz University were selected using multi-stage cluster sampling. The instruments used in this study consisted of the Young Early Maladaptive Schema Questionnaire —Short Form (SQ-SF) and Lawrence’s God Image Scale (GIS) (Lawrence, 1997; Sadeghi, 1384).Results showed that there was no significant relationship between early maladaptive schemas and image of God. Despite the lack of significant correlation between total scores of maladaptive schemas and image of God, there was a negative and significant relationship between social isolation, compliance and strict standards schemas with God image. Other maladaptive schemas did not show significant relationship with God image. These results indicate that those who think God is very controlling have negative emotional responses to God. That is, someone who feels that they are powerless and dependent and nothing is under their control shapes a negative image of God.

In many researches, the role of parents’ behavior on the formationof cognitive and emotional problems in children has been emphasized.Accordingly, the aim of this study was to determine the relationshipbetween perceptions of parental behavior and early maladaptiveschemas in children. The method of study was descriptive-analytical.The statistical population consisted of all normal students as well asthose students who referred to the counseling center of Bu Ali SinaUniversity in Hamedan in 2013. In this study, the clinical and nonclinical samples were used. The research sample consisted of 69clinical individuals and 134non-clinical individuals. Conventionalsampling and multistage stratified sampling methods were used toselect the clinical and non-clinical samples, respectively. Theinstruments used for data collection were Young SchemaQuestionnaire-Short Form (YSQ-SF) and Parker's Parental BondingInstrument (PBI), and the data analyzed using Pearson correlation. The analysis of the results showed a negative correlation betweenearly maladaptive schemas and perceptions of parental caring. Positivecorrelation was also observed between early maladaptive schemas andperceptions of parental overprotection (P<0.05). The results showedthat there were significant differences between perception of parentalbehavior (caring and overprotection) in clinical and non-clinicalsamples (P<0.05). The research findings indicated that parentalbehavior (caring and overprotection) is related with the formation ofearly maladaptive schemas of children. Therefore, the attention ofspecialists can be drawn to the cognitive development of individualsin interaction with primary caregivers, and to the formation ofsubsequent cognitive impairment.
