This research has been done with goal of checking relation of identity styles and self-acceptance with suicidal thoughts among Shiraz university students. Statistical population was consists of 300 students from six departments of Shiraz University in the academic year of 2019-2020, that were chosen as the samples of the study by the way of measure of multistage cluster. The instruments of the study were as follow: the questionnaire of Berzonski's styles of identity, the questionnaire of self-acceptance, and the scale of Beck's idea of suicide. Data was analyzed by Pearson correlation test and the analysis of multiple regressions at the same time and step by step. The results showed that there is a meaningful and negative relationship between informative and normative identity styles with suicidal thoughts (p<0/01). And also a meaningful and positive relationship between avoidable deuced identity style suicidal thoughts (p<0/01). Besides, there is a meaningful and negative relation between unconditioned self-acceptance and suicidal thoughts (p<0/01). Results also demonstrated that informative and normative identity styles and unconditioned self-acceptance are negative anticipator of suicidal thoughts; and avoidable deduced identity styles is positive anticipator of suicidal thoughts.

Depression is characterized by many symptoms, including thoughts of death and suicide. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between sense of coherence, brain-behavioral systems, and attributional styles in the prediction of suicidal thoughts of depressed patients. First, using availability sampling and Beck depression inventory, 100 depressed patients admitted to Razi psychiatric hospital in Tabriz were selected. Then Beck scale for suicide ideation, Antonovsky's sense of coherence questionnaire, Carver and White's brain-behavioral systems questionnaire, and Seligman's attributional style questionnaire were presented to them to collect information. Then data were analyzed by SPSS software, using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression. The results of this study showed that sense of coherence explained 44%, brain-behavioral systems explained 28.9% and attributional styles explained 33.9% of the variance of suicidal thoughts in depressed patients. Therefore, it can be concluded that sense of coherence, brain-behavioral systems, and attributional styles are the variables affecting the suicidal thoughts of depressed patients.

The present study aimed to examine the relationship of suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, resilience, daily stress and mental health in university students. The study group consisted of 265 University of Tehran students. Subjects were asked to complete Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (BSI), Mental Health Scale, Daily Stress Scale and Resilience Scale. The data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient and stepwise regression. Based on the results, a significant negative correlation existed between suicidal thoughts and resilience and self-esteem. Also, variables related to anxiety, depression, mental health and daily stress had a positive correlation with suicidal thoughts. The regression analysis indicated that depression was the strongest factor in predicting suicidal thoughts, and that anxiety, mental health, resilience and daily stress stood next in the line. The variables had a total 21 percent influence on the variance of suicidal thoughts. The study suggests that psychological and mental health problems, including anxiety and depression, along with other factors such as resilience and daily stress are important variables in recognizing and predicting suicidal thoughts Since symptoms of recurrent PTSD are sustaining and their emergence, growth and sustainability are to a large extent influenced by personal variables, and since these factors are connected to pretrauma maladaptive relationships which contribute to emergence of maladaptive schemas, the schema therapy targeted roots of the disorder and re-created maladaptive schemas, and it was thus successful in curing symptoms of recurrent trauma.
