Sexual abuse is a trauma caused by injury, which seriously threatens the health of adolescents and makes them need professional help. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness-based therapy in improving resilience and reducing the clinical symptoms of adolescents with post-traumatic stress disorder caused by sexual harassment. The research design was a single subject with a follow-up period. The statistical population of the study included all 12 to 18-year-old girls with post-traumatic stress disorder due to sexual harassment in Izeh city who referred to the social emergency center in 2020. Two of them were selected through purposive sampling. Three baseline sessions were performed for each participant. Evaluations were done using the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Symptom Scale (Foa et al., 2018) and the Resilience Questionnaire (Connor and Davidson, 2003) at baseline, intervention sessions, and one month after treatment (follow-up). The intervention was performed individually based on mindfulness in 8 sessions. Data analysis was done using visual analysis of graph, recovery percentage and reliable percentage index. The results showed that both subjects showed a decreasing and improving trend in the scale of post-traumatic stress disorder syndrome and an increasing and improving trend in the Conner and Davidson Resilience Scale scores. Subjects preserved these results for up to one month after treatment. Based on the findings of the research, it is recommended that therapists in the field of children and adolescents use mindfulness therapies to achieve more effectiveness in increasing resilience and improving stress symptoms.

The relationship between countertransference and self-regulation process in Iranian psychotherapists Abstract Psychotherapy literature has always emphasized on the significance of self-knowledge, managing countertransference, and its application in all psychological situations. The goal of this article is to investigate the relationship between self-regulation processes and countertransference. 180 psychotherapists that have worked in Tehran voluntarily participated in this research and they completed the questionnaires. In order to investigate self-regulation three scales were used; Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), Integrative Self-Knowledge Scale (ISK), and Brief Self-Control Scale (BSC). Countertransference inventory (CI) was used to measure countertransference. Resulted data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and stepwise regression. Results revealed that integrative self-knowledge and self-control were negatively correlated with countertransference and self-knowledge moderates the relationship between self-control and countertransference. These results emphasize the importance of expanding conscious capacities and mindful control mechanisms in process of psychotherapy and other psychological interventions. Cancer is a potentially fatal and chronic disease that is diagnosed with negative emotions such as anger. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness training on improving the experience of anger and self-compassion in cancer patients. This was a semi-experimental study with a control group. The statistical population of this study was cancer patients referred to health centers in Tehran in 1977. Samples were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group was trained in mindfulness. The Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) and Multidimensional Anger Inventory (MAI) were used for data collection. Results of the statistical analysis of anger scores (P< 0.01) and self-compassion (P< 0.001) in the experimental group showed that their condition was better than the control group. Mindfulness can be used to reduce mental health problems and thus to achieve better therapeutic outcomes. Keywords: Cancer, Mindfulness, Anger, Self Compassion

The purpose of this study was to investigate the Effectiveness of compassion-based therapy on cognitive emotion regulation, shame and guilt-proneness and mindfulness components in patients with mixed anxiety- depression disorder. The present study was a semi-experimental pre-test and post-test with control group. The statistical population of the study included all patients with mixed anxiety- depression disorder in Isfahan. The sample size of the study consisted of 24 people with mixed anxiety- depression disorder, who were selected by purposeful sampling method. They were randomly divided into two groups experimental and control. They were evaluated with cognitive emotional regulation strategy scales, Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) and Self-Conscious Affect (TOSCA) Questionnaire. The experimental group received group compassion-based therapy intervention for 2 months (8 sessions of 90 minutes) while the control group received no training at all. The results of covariance analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the scores of cognitive emotional regulation strategy, shame-proneness and guilt-proneness and mindfulness skills in the experimental and control groups in the post-test. Experimental group, in comparison with the control group, received less scores in shame and guilt and more scores in Mindfulness skills. The results showed that group compassion-based therapy of cognitive emotion regulation strategies was effective. Based on the findings, compassion-based therapy can be used as a suitable treatment option to improve the Mindfulness skills, cognitive-emotional regulation, and preparation for the experience of shame and guilt of people with mixed anxiety- depression disorder.

All subjects who are suffer from Muscular-Skeletal disease were recruited from Hazrat-e-Rassoul Hospital, (Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran). Design of the study was quasi experimental pretest-posttest-control group design with follow-up stage. 45 patients randomly were assigned in three groups: Spiritual therapy, mindfulness therapy and control group. Each group constituted of intervention comprised of eight 90-minutes-sessions. Demographic information’s and depression, anxiety and stress scale were used to gather data. Data were analyzed with analysis of variance with repeated measurement. Analysis of data revealed that spiritual therapy and mindfulness therapy were not significantly different in reduction depression, anxiety and stress in patients with chronic pain (These treatment were equally effective). More ever, comparing pairs in groups revealed that depression, anxiety and stress were different in treatment and follow up stages. Both spiritual therapy and mindfulness therapy were different from the control group. Spiritual therapy and mindfulness therapy were lower in depression, anxiety and stress in compare to control group. The aim of this study was to examine effectiveness of Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) on depression and rumination symptoms in individuals with a major depression records. The study employed a single-case design with multiple baselines. MBCT was given to 4 patients with major depressive disorder over eight 1-hour sessions, and a follow-up was carried out one month later. Instruments used were the depression questionnaire, Beck depression inventory and the rumination response scale. Results showed that depression and rumination symptoms in the patients were reduced by 78 and 48 percent, respectively. The results were clinically significant for three patients. The study suggests that MBCT given in the form of individualized sessions can be an effective treatment for patients with major depressive disorder.
